Scientist, author and speaker Dr. David Hamilton joins us to talk about his new book…
‘The 5 Side Effects of Kindness’.
Being kind is something that is natural to most people. We do what we can to help others in need. But did you know that kindness is also good for your health? There are, in fact, 5 beneficial side effects of kindness, where being kind and showing compassion actually has measurable positive effects on health.
In this talk, you’ll learn how kindness makes us happier and can be an antidote to depression, how it affects the heart and blood vessels, how it slows several of the body’s ‘processes of ageing’, how it improves relationships, and also how it’s contagious. This talk is based on David’s brand new book (The 5 Side Effects of Kindness), which is published in February, 2017.
Dr Hamilton is a bestselling author of 8 books (No’s 9 and 10 are due out in 2017) offering talks and workshops that use science to inspire – fusing neuroscience, the mind-body connection, and philosophical and eastern spiritual teachings. He also writes a regular blog on his website as well as occasional blogs for the Huffington Post (US edition) and Psychologies Life Labs, and is a columnist for Soul and Spirit Magazine. In 2016, David won the Kindred Spirit, ‘Best MBS Writer Award’.
