Heel Appeal Success!

The Heel Appeal was a great day. My daughter, sister and myself had a fab time; the atmosphere was brilliant and we would definitely do it again! – Jacqui Spence

Cancer Support Scotland’s first ever sponsored walk event saw nearly 70 supporters ‘walk a mile in someones else’s shoes’ from the Cancer Support Scotland Centre to the Hilton Grosvenor. There was a fantastic array of funky shoes chosen for the task in hand from sky-scraping high heels and flippers, to ski boots and slippers.

We wanted to give one of our supporters the opportunity to really stand out and be counted as a champion of Cancer Support Scotland. We asked Pamela Burns to start the walk as she embodies everything we stand for.

The Centre gave me back a bit of me time. I find the Centre very calming, welcoming and I don’t feel isolated. They are always friendly and I always find them the same way every time I go. – Pamela Burns

With spirits high throughout the morning the walkers really made the event a special occasion. They all took on the walk as one big team for one cause: to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Support Scotland. We’re still totting up the total amount raised (£3,000 and counting!!) but, as you can see in the clippings below, we featured in the press which means we have already seen some awareness raised!
