Support groups are an excellent outreach for people who are seeking support from others who are in a similar situation to themselves. Groups can help you cope with feelings of isolation and loneliness by talking to people who can truly say ‘I have an understanding of how you feel.’
There are many myths about support groups being places of doom and gloom and this is certainly not the case with Cancer Support Scotland (Tak Tent) groups. Our groups offer a fun, friendly, welcoming and confidential environment for anyone affected by cancer. We are always happy to welcome new members.
"During treatment for cancer I didn't feel like myself: coming to Cancer Support Scotland Support Group helped me feel like me again."
