Now in its 5th year, September’s Let’s Rock Cancer is a save the date event for all musos in an around Glasgow.
It’s a great night out to watch and judge the latest up and coming bands.
As three Scottish bands are battling it out on the night to win a top prize, you and friends are enjoying a fantastic night out too.
It gets better, together you are helping raise money for Cancer Support Scotland – a local Scottish charity supporting people and families affected with cancer.
For you, your friends and colleagues you are definitely in for a cool, relaxed and fun night out with drinks, 3 course meal at an award winning venue and guaranteed prizes on every table. Not only that you are in with a chance to spot the next Fratellis or Franz Ferdinand. All the while raising vital funds for those battling cancer.
What happens at Let’s Rock Cancer?
Three unsigned bands take to the stage and together with our judging panel you’ll help decide who wins the awesome recording prize with Gorbals Sound, one of the UK’s highest profile recording studios.
The evening will be hosted by Graeme Easton, sports announcer, presenter, and host of PlayList podcasts. So you may not recognise the face but you will certainly recognise his voice.

To give you a flavour of the night let’s start by meet the inimitable judge Jim Gellatly:
Spotlight on one of our judges
Radio DJ, Presenter and Compere. Firmly established as one of Scotland’s leading exponents of new music.
Jim is well placed to be on our Let’s Rock Cancer judging panel. Having served time at BBC Radio Scotland, Northsound, Beat 106, Clyde 1, Forth 1 and XFM Scotland, Jim’s played a role in uncovering many of the most important bands around, including Oasis, Snow Patrol and Coldplay. The first person to play the likes of Biffy Clyro, Twin Atlantic, The Fratellis, Amy Macdonald and KT Tunstall on the radio, Coventry’s The Enemy have also credited Jim on several occasions for picking up on them while still unsigned.
FUN FACT: In 2008 Jim was presented with the Radio Academy’s ‘John Peel Award for contribution to Music Radio.
