New Ambassador for Cancer Support Scotland.

Scottish entertainment presenter Laura Boyd has announced she is becoming an Ambassador for Cancer Support Scotland. As someone who has previously benefited from the charities cancer support services, Cancer Support Scotland is very close to Laura’s heart. Laura’s schedule is busy interviewing world-wide celebrities and Scottish talent, yet the soon to be mother still finds time to work tirelessly campaigning to support people living with cancer across Scotland.

Laura’s recent news of becoming a mother in December has been welcomed across the nation and has given hope to many families who have cancer.

During our, Fizz and Sparkle- Ladies Lunch, Laura said:

I am delighted to be an ambassador for Cancer Support Scotland. It’s a charity I have both used and worked with over the years and I know the services they offer mean so much to so many people – me included. It’s nice to be part of something that can help change lives and I look forward to lending my support going forward.

Commenting on the announcement, Cancer Support Scotland, CEO, Rob Murray said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Laura Boyd as our Ambassador. Laura is joining us at an extremely exciting time as mark our 40th anniversary celebrations in 2020 and as we look to ensure our services continue to support the wellbeing of those affected by cancer across the nation.

“I’m confident Laura representing our charity and speaking about her experiences will play a positive role in letting young women know of the benefit counselling and complementary therapy can have to those affected by cancer.

“While huge advances have been made in treatment, the sad reality is that for many families, cancer is a disease that will play a major part in the life of their family. We must ensure adequate levels of investment and awareness are being provided to grassroots counselling services”
