The Wedding

On the 25^th of May 2013 Cancer Support Scotland hosted a new and innovative fundraising event ‘The Wedding’ at the Glasgow Hilton.

Over 250 people attended the black tie event which included a champagne reception, entertaining vignettes, beautiful bridesmaids, a rowdy stag party and a frustrated chef! And of course there was the traditional best man’s speech. It was an event full of entertainment and surprises at every turn!

As well as a raffle there were also amazing auction lots which included a beautiful white gold and diamond ring, tickets to see the fabulous Robbie Williams and a four night luxury stay in the beautiful Highland town of Aviemore. ‘The Wedding’ managed to raise a whopping £14,000 for Cancer Support Scotland. This money will be used to continue to provide complementary and talking therapies to cancer patient, their family and carers.

Our immense gratitude and thanks to the committee, the table hosts and all of our sponsors and volunteers for making the event such a success as we could not have done it without you. And another massive thank you goes to Santander for matching and donating the raffle money that was raised.
