You can make a real difference

About volunteering

Whether you have been affected by cancer, you know someone who has, or you just want to help others across Scotland who have, we need volunteers like you.

Being a volunteer for Cancer Support Scotland offers amazing benefits and brings a lot of joy into people’s lives, not only for those who rely on our support and complementary therapies, but for our volunteers themselves and the wider local community.

As well as making a huge difference to the lives of others, being a volunteer can also improve your own mental and physical wellbeing, support your development of job and life skills, and is a great way to meet new people.

That is why we aim to make it as easy as possible for anyone to become a volunteer for Cancer Support Scotland, with three great ways to get involved:

Volunteer in services

Whether at The Calman Centre or any of our outreach centres across Scotland, our complementary therapy, counselling, administration and other services volunteers are always in demand. If you have experience in these areas, a few hours of your time could make a lasting difference. We would love to hear from you.

To find out how you could make a lasting difference and to find out more information, please fill out our contact form below and one of our team will be happy to help.

Volunteer in the community

From raising awareness to raising funds, our invaluable community volunteers organise and attend events whenever and wherever they can across Scotland. If you enjoy getting out and meeting people get in touch. A member of our team will keep you posted on opportunities to change lives through events in your local community and across Scotland.

If you’re interested in booking a space on an upcoming course – or would like more information – please call us on 0141 337 8199 and someone will be happy to help.

Join the support squad

We truly value every volunteer, whatever way you can help. From attending our events to simply ‘liking’ or ‘sharing’ our social media posts, our support squad members is open to anyone who wants to help people across Scotland hear our message. Sign up online and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and we’ll let you know when, where and how you can make a difference next!
