Corporate volunteering

Corporate social responsibility forms part of the culture and values of many businesses, and we recognise that many businesses want to encourage staff in volunteering for local charities and good causes. This is something we a delighted to support. As a small charity, Cancer Support Scotland is somewhere your team can make a large impact with their time, skills or expertise. It is also a great way for staff to work together while increasing motivation and fulfilment. It can be challenging but also great fun, check out what those achieved below:

Barclays

We have had brilliant support from Barclays through their Making a Difference Days with colleagues using their IT skills to help us upgrade our records.

John Burns from Barclays who helps us co-ordinate the support said “Barclays were delighted to allow colleagues to help make a difference to Cancer Support Scotland, by giving up their working day to help work on the computer systems in the centre. Without charities like Cancer Support Scotland, people would be left not knowing where to turn to when given a cancer diagnosis.”

Morgan Stanley

We recently had a team of Morgan Stanley volunteers busy in our garden helping us keep it neat and tidy for our service users to enjoy. Some of them were also over painting our adopted garden planter at Hyndland station so if you’re waiting for a train make sure you have a look as it’s now looking all neat and fresh.
