About counselling

Talking openly about cancer is difficult, but whether it’s the fear of being a burden, facing the unknown, or simply finding the right words, our aim is to make it easier. Through our counselling service, you and your loved ones will have the support of a counsellor to identify the things that are concerning you most, reflect on your experiences, and lead the direction of your own sessions.

For most people, cancer will remain part of their lives indefinitely, and we don’t expect you to leave us with no concerns at all. Our focus is on using counselling to empower you and those close to you with the tools to cope effectively and to manage your individual and shared wellbeing in the long-term.

Our counselling service is available for anyone affected by cancer, whether you have been diagnosed, are a caregiver, or a loved one – including those who have already lost someone. Our counselling sessions can cover a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, bereavement, relationship concerns and facing change.

All of our counsellors are qualified through courses accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychology. They are experienced in working with those directly and indirectly affected by cancer, they understand challenges that can be faced, and they are committed to helping you overcome them.
